Number of grids

Each grid is followed by its solution. For a PDF, choose “Save as PDF” as the destination.

The grids are the ones from the daily puzzle and its archive, drawn at random, so a new batch is never the same as the last. Each hides a mystery word in the leftover letters, spelled out on the solution page. The level sets the directions words can run in: across and down at level 1, diagonals at level 2, all eight directions at level 3.

The sheet is built for paper — big letters, black and white, nothing else on the page. To keep a file instead, choose “Save as PDF” in the print dialog: the PDF holds the puzzles first, then their answer keys. Looking for a theme? What does the level change?

The directions words hide in. Level 1 keeps them across and down; level 2 adds diagonals; level 3 lets them run backwards, in all eight directions. The word list is no harder at level 3.

How many puzzles per batch?

One, two or four, each with its answer key — and you can run as many batches as you like. The draw is random among every published grid, and a new one comes out every morning.
